Legal expertise

Marcel has over 16 years of professional experience, period during which he assisted or represented both domestic and abroad clients.

His areas of expertise include: corporate and commercial law, labor relations, mergers and acquisitions, competition law (with an emphasis on anti-competitive practices) and telecommunications.

During 2008-2011, Marcel Vasile has worked in a law firm associated with one of the largest four multinational audit and consultancy companies in the world (Big Four).

 

Relevant projects

  1. Assistance and legal representation before the Competition Council, drafting of legal opinions on possible anti-competitive practices and competition compliance manual for one of the largest private providers of medical services in Romania.
  2. Assistance and legal representation granted to one of the largest private healthcare providers in Romania in the investigation by which the Competition Council ascertained the breach of art. 8 par. (1) of the Competition Law no. 21/1996 by the Ministry of Health, the National Health Insurance House, the Ministry of Public Finance and the Government of Romania.
  3. Assistance to one of the world`s leading manufacturers and suppliers of building materials and building solutions during the merger process of the two companies held by it in Romania.
  4. Drafting legal due diligence reports (especially in the areas: labor law, companies’ law, intellectual property and litigation) for various clients.
  5. Consultancy and legal assistance granted to one of the main telecom operators in the process of restructuring its’ business, process which involved the downsizing of several hundred jobs.

Education

Marcel has graduated the Faculty of Law and Sociology, Transilvania University from Brasov, in 2004 and holds a BA degree in law.

Marcel holds a MA degree in industrial and labor relations issued by Bucharest University, Faculty of Law in 2006.

Marcel Vasile is member of the Bucharest Bar since 2010.
